Optical Delay Line Time Delay Calculation

This tool calculates the time delay introduced by a translation stage in an optical delay line. In ultrafast optics experiments—such as pump–probe spectroscopy and time‑resolved measurements—optical delay lines precisely control the relative timing between pump and probe pulses by varying the optical path difference. By entering the physical displacement L (in meters) of the translation stage, the calculator automatically returns the corresponding time delay Δt.
